Nathan Sheron says Hartlepool United are determined to achieve success this season and build on their win over Woking. The midfielder spoke after making his 100th appearance for the club, which currently sits 12th in the National League with nine points from seven games.
Sheron reflected on the mood shift following the 1-0 victory against Woking on September 5th, which ended a three-match losing streak. "Last time I spoke to you it wasn't a nice place to be in but it is funny how things can change after one win," Sheron told reporters. The 28-year-old, now in his third year at the club, also marked a personal milestone. "I made my 100th appearance at the weekend so that was quite a proud achievement," he said.
Injury concerns for Kidderminster trip
Hartlepool travel to face Kidderminster Harriers at Aggborough Stadium on Friday evening. The squad will be without the injured duo of Merrick and Kouogun for the fixture. Their recent form shows one win and four defeats from their last five outings, a sequence that includes a 2-0 loss to Kidderminster just three days ago.
Kidderminster, now managed by a new boss after Adam Murray's departure to AFC Barrow last season, start the game eighth in the table. They have suffered only one defeat in their opening six league matches. Hartlepool's recent results have been mixed, with a narrow win over Woking followed by a defeat to Everton's under-21 side and the loss at Kidderminster.
Looking for consistency
Sheron emphasised the need for the team to find consistency and put together a positive run of results. With five goals scored and six conceded so far this season, tightening up at both ends will be key. The club is seven points behind early leaders Boreham Wood, highlighting the need to start climbing the standings. Fans can check the latest league positions on our standings page.
The immediate focus is on Friday's 19:45 BST kick-off against Kidderminster, a quick opportunity for Hartlepool to avenge their midweek defeat. Sheron and his teammates will be aiming to use the confidence from the Woking win as a platform for their ambitions this campaign. The full squad available for selection is listed on our squad page.
