Hartlepool United legends are swapping their football boots for cricket bats this weekend. They will take part in a charity cricket match at Peterlee Cricket Club, raising funds for The Roy Simpson MBE Foundation.
What's happening?
The match will feature former Hartlepool United players, including Micky Barron, Graeme Lee, Antony Sweeney, and Mark Tinkler.
They will be joined by former Middlesbrough and Spennymoor Town players, all coming together for a great cause.
Why it matters
The Roy Simpson MBE Foundation was set up to support amateur cricket in East Durham and the surrounding areas. Roy Simpson was a hugely popular figure in Peterlee, and his legacy lives on through the foundation.
What to expect
The match will take place at 2pm on Sunday, with entry just £3 for adults and free for Under-16s. Donations to the foundation are welcome, and payment can be made by cash or card on the gate.
