Hartlepool United is supporting the town's community during the coronavirus emergency. The club is providing two vehicles and drivers to make deliveries of hot and cold food from the Hartlepool Community Support Hub.
What happened?
The Hub, set up by Hartlepool Borough Council, has taken over 5,000 calls and distributed 1,071 food parcels and 775 prescriptions. Ian Gardiner, the council's head of leisure, recreation and participation, praised Hartlepool United for their support.
Why it matters for Hartlepool
Mark Maguire, Pools' chief executive, said the club is delighted to assist the council in their efforts to deliver essential hot meals to the vulnerable and isolated. The partnership with Hartlepool Mecca Bingo is also providing free hot meals on a daily basis.
